Welcome to SplicePal. By downloading, installing, or using the SplicePal mobile application and related services (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
1. Description of Service
SplicePal is an AI-powered tool designed to assist fiber optic technicians with OTDR trace analysis, splice troubleshooting, and fiber specification reference. The App uses artificial intelligence to analyze images and provide recommendations.
2. Important Disclaimer — Not a Substitute for Professional Judgment
The AI-generated analyses, diagnoses, and recommendations provided by SplicePal are for informational and assistive purposes only. They do not replace professional training, certification, industry standards, or sound engineering judgment. Always verify AI-generated results against your own expertise, equipment readings, and applicable industry standards (TIA-568, ISO-11801, etc.) before making decisions that affect network performance or safety.
SplicePal is not liable for any decisions made based on AI-generated output, including but not limited to accepting or rejecting splices, connectors, or fiber links.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.
4. Account Registration
To use certain features, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
5. Subscription and Billing
Free Tier: All users receive a free tier with up to 2 OTDR analyses, 2 troubleshoot sessions, and 5 fiber reference lookups per calendar month.
Pro Tier: Paid subscriptions provide unlimited access to all features. Subscriptions are billed monthly through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Renewal and cancellation are managed through your app store account.
Prices are subject to change. We will provide notice of price changes before they take effect.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Upload content that is harmful, offensive, or violates the rights of others
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Circumvent usage limits or subscription restrictions
- Use automated methods to access the App or its services
- Share your account credentials with others
7. Intellectual Property
The App, its content, features, and functionality are owned by SplicePal and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any images you upload, but grant us a limited license to process them for providing the service.
8. User Content
You are solely responsible for the images and data you upload to the App. By uploading content, you grant SplicePal a non-exclusive, worldwide license to process, store, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SPLICEPAL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@splicepal.com.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
